Did you know
You can test if your indoor plant needs water by inserting a pencil into the soil and then pulling it out. Soil on the pencil, it's OK for now. Clean, it needs liquid.

When watering houseplants, use tepid water instead of cold.
Cold water may chill their roots

Plants like beer, too. If you have any 'leftovers' from a party, let it sit for a few days until it's flat... then give your plants an extra treat.

Speaking of houseplants...if you had them outside for 'summer vacation', check them for insects before you bring them back into the house!

Good advice, pitmom. I wonder if this works...

To get rid of bugs in houseplants, push a clove of garlic into the plant's soil. If the garlic sprouts and grows, just cut it back.

If you'd rather not keep chemical fertilizer around (pets or kids) you can use rabbit food pellets made from alfalfa.

A good way to perk up a yawn is with coca cola and beer! and you can use dawn liquid detergent to clean and keep fleas away! Fleas hate Dawn (the original blue dawn)...I have used Dawn to clean my kitties...it safe to use!
