Still expecting very heavy snow storm Saturday...ugh

Went to the grocery store yesterday to 'stock up'...it was a mad house, so crowded and shelves getting empty.

Hello all,

Was nice and sunny yesterday and it is back to clouds and cold temps again. I have been keeping a journal and my anxiety is less and so is depression as well. I finally told my mom and my son my news from my p-doc and I feel like crud, he told me that a trip to Disney land with my son is a no go and if I do go he will drop me and not see me again. This broke my son's heart, he doesn't want to go at all now. I am hoping we can talk him into going with dad but I won't force him to go. This was something he wanted to do with me, just the two of us. I wanted to go and just lost my heart when I was told I couldn't go. I have to keep my meds and doc so I won't go.

I was emotionally numb last night. No panic, no anxiety, no depression, no happiness, nothing. It was so peaceful. I has some pain was I felt. I wondered if pain was an emotion? I don't think it is, but the numbness was so nice. I woke up a but shaky and jittery this morning, but that went away pretty quickly.

Why doesn't the doc want you to go Dawn?

Wow Joyce, that sounds horrible. I hope that the storm isn't as bad as they say. We just got hit but it wasn't that bad. Though we got a lot of snow and winds. The snow wasn't wet. So it was easier to blow. The winds weren't sixty miles an hour but bad enough. I will be thinking of you.

Pitmom and PA_Grandma- Please do be careful and stay warm. My gosh I was hoping the east wouldn't get really bad weather this year. Y'all have gotten slammed the past few years so hard. Stay safe and warm, and in the house.

Karen- My p-doc wants me to take baby steps with my anxiety and making outings due to the fact that my anxiety comes on so hard and so fast when the winter comes around. This is my peak season so he will not allow me to take that big of a step without him being able to see me right away if needed. I understand and I agree but it beaks my heart to break my sons. Good news is that my son and dad are going to go and have an awesome time and I am so excited for them both.

Hello everyone this Saturday...and you, too pitmom.

I understand what you're going through...we're sharing similar situations. I hope you can stay calm for yourself and your dogs.

We've got about eight inches so far. Right now the snow fall is light, but soon we're due for three inches an hour.

I had quite a time getting the storm door pushed open so I could get out to start removing snow on the landing and stairs. Had heard it was suggested to 'plow' frequently....especially since it's going to get wet later. I'm using an orange crate to sit on and scooping with a dust pan. Only a foot or so at a time...but better than nothing.

John is in lousy shape this morning. Just sitting in a chair with his eyes closed...no conversation or noticing my activity. Wish I could just get him to go back to bed.

Will keep in touch....as long as we have power too, pitmom !

Joyce and Pitmom- I hope that things will calm down. My gosh that would cause my anxiety to just go through the clouds. Stay warm and calm, this too shall pass and things will be OK soon.

Joyce- I am sorry that your husband isn't well this morning. This is such a hard disease to handle. Prayers for you both my dear.

Pitmom- I am glad knowing that for your dogs you can remain calm. I am thinking of seeing about an animal for my anxiety as well. My winter months are so hard. Maybe if I had an animal with training to help me out I wouldn't be so bad. No idea where to start but will Google it.

Karen- Wow they were some hungry birds yesterday. I am glad that you get to see such beauty. I am in the middle of my little town so I don't get that. I hope that you are having a good day.

It is cold and windy and raining here. It's only 6am so I hope it will clear a bit. My congestion is still pretty bad, but I will use my nebulizer and see what that does. I am sleeping a little better, so that's good.

My friend is in labor and has been for about 30hrs, but she isn't in the hospital yet. Contractions are too far apart. So I am hoping to meet her baby girl soon. I am so excited!!!

Emotions are still all over, but getting a little better now, so that's another plus. I have read one of my books and I have started on another so that helps me out a lot.

Well I am off to lay back down. It is way too early to be awake right now. Will check back in soon.

As if this isn't 'exciting' enough! Started smelling exhaust fumes IN the house! Shut the furnace down, called the neighbor (she can see my chimney/smoke stack) she says "All clear from snow." Next step, drag the vacuum cleaner out and clean the filters. Have to wait for fumes to clear before I restart the furnace. Ugh. Wait and see....

We're OK, Karen. Thanks for your 'warm' thoughts.

As it turns out, the generator cannot be hooked up to the furnace, so IF we DO lose power we'll have to sit it out.

I'll certainly look into other heater options for future winters.

Still snowing...and very windy. Our total is expected to be approximately 27 inches when all is said and done. Better than the 30 original estimate.

I've given up trying to shovel anymore today. Supposed to be sunny tomorrow, hope a hope.

John is still having a bad day. Can't get him to eat.

Good morning everybody. Joyce glad you survived. I hope that the shoveling goes well. If there is a lot can you hire a kid to do it? That is what we do. It helps.
