i mean come on. i have a black box with nothing atop the right of my screen, and click on it becomes an add. i can't remove it. then i get side adds, i can't hide them, have to click on something to get rid of it. them 8 second pop -ups. seriously, if this is a healingwell thing it is bloody overload. is there something i can do to stop the relentlessness. it is counter productive, maybe the universe is speaking to me and saying get the hell of the computer!!!

I get the ads too. But not across the screen. Some people use ad blockers. Do you have that on your computer? I don't know how to do it but somebody might.

I hope you get some help with this. I keep bugging admin about it.

smart filter on, pop up block on. I am posting this
as I have an add nearly half across my screen. you
can see from my sentences. I changed search
engines as bing sends stuff I look up.

I mean my reading posts I can no longer do when I have a blank ad at the top corner that just sits there, and then I will get a 8 second pop up, then I will get side ads, which are always there, but then will come across a quarter of my screen. I will be off until something is done. or I am advised of. it is too much. down loaded adguard I don't think it has done squat!

In lieu of solution from Peter (Admin), may I suggest the following setup for your PCs. I NEVER see any ads, here or anywhere else.

1) Windows 7 (Shouldn't be a factor, just listing for completeness)
2) Firefox, latest update 44.0.2, Available at www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/products/
3) Firefox Plus, latest update 2.7.1, Jan 19, 2016, auto-updates turned on. Available at adblockplus.org/en/

Note that the ads raise funds to support HW - if you use an adblocker try to remember to donate once in a while if you can. www.healingwell.com/donate/

Another HW member has posted this solution for IE (Internet Explorer) -

If you are using Internet Explorer go to the top right of the screen click on the Gear. Click on Safety, then click on Tracking Protection.

I turned mine off just to see what happened and sure enough got a harry potter sliding ad. Turned it back on and refreshed the page and now it is gone.

When it is working next to the URL at the top of the page you will see a Blue Circle with a line through it. If you click on that you will see that how many ads are being blocked.

I am using windows ten, and it is not overly developed for add overload. Lynwood, static adds on the side and top are fine, not mr. h potter though. these defeat the purpose. hey, I may not have the coin to donate to hw, thus I do so when I post, and I hope my commitment shows this. I have been advised that others have been having issues as well. it is the bombardment of the adds and the negating manner in which they appear that is the problem. I am not that savvy on the computer, but I am trying things. I am confused by a lot of this stuff........cheques in the mail.

Yep, it's these slide ads and the number of them that seem to be a problem for most.

I happen to be a software engineer, thought maybe I could help. Both the solutions I suggested should work on Windows 10, although I have not personally tested them there.

I think I got it now. taken a day. please remember that I am vision impaired. so let's see what happens. cheers. I have implemented your stuff- too the best of my abilities. thanks for ya help mate. sorry for the vent.

Nasty mess there HT hope it is sorted out now

I am on fire fox. I get the adds bottom right of screen.

If I keep typing, blindly they disappear with in a few words.

What a frustration! I would go back to the beginning. When you are ready. and walk through the stages of blocking adds on your browser.

This also could be a clich in windows 10, chatting with a help person may be useful.
