Prozac vs Zoloft

Have posted origainlly in anxiety forum but am posting in Bipolar and depression as well, need as much advice and thoughts and support as possible plz respond with ANY thoughts.

hve been taking zoloft almost two years now, it helps somewhat with depression, but not with anxiety, thats why I am on the klonipin which really is not helping, he said no to xananx, rebound to bad on it, so I am thinking ativan, not been dx with, but really think I have restless leg syndrome, i drive everyone nuts with my legs shakes while I sit, walk helps til feet go numb. Anyway before the zoloft I was on nothing for about a year that was horrible, than I tryed one of those clinical studies, and they tryed a bunch on me, none helped, and prior to that year I was on prozac for two years, it did help with anxiety, and depression, but what I did not like about it was it made me tired and somewhat unmotivated, but it helped with OCD anxity, depression, I always took my dose in the am as thats what I was told to do, now what if i were to switch back to prozac after 4 years now of not being on it, and take it at night, would that make a difference, it made me want to sleep, so taking it at night would help me sleep. I go back next week or so I think, besdies its cheaper, but i dont want to make a mistake, I know some meds work differenly for some than others, but I would still like others thoughts, and opions and advice please!! I am thinking about asking him if we can go with the prozac at night and ativan combo day, kloinpon doesnt make me tired, and thats not what I am shooting for any way, I need anxiety releif desperatly. is the rebound on the ativan bad if taking three times a day, as I am with the klonipin, even with the triple doe of it he has me on , I feel like I am on a placebo, I cannot afford the xnax extened, insurance doesnt cover very much co-pay high, so i have to stay generic., Ok then any thoughts please I am goign topost in other forums and hope I get some responses, thanks!!!....

I AM NOT TO SURE about THE OTHER MEDICATIONS BUT I HAVE BEEN TAKING ZOLOFT FOR A LITTLE OVER A MONTH AND IT SOME WHAT KINDA HELP BUT IT FEELS LIKE IT IS TAKING FOREVER THE DOCTER SAID U JUST HAVE TO GET TO THE RIGHT MILIGRAM... WHAT MILIGRAM ARE U TAKING ON ZOLOFT NOW??? IM AT 150 MILIGRAMS THE DOCTER SAID U CAN GO ALL THE WAY UP TO 300. I KNOW THAT I GET TIRED ALOT AND THE DOCTER SAID THE SAME about TAKING IT AT NIGHT!!!!! WELL SORRY IF I DIDNT HELP U AT ALL BUT HOPE U FEEL BETTER 

Hi, I don't know how you are doing now.  I am currently taking 150 mg of Wellbutrin XL and 20 mg of Fluoxetine in the morning and have been wondering about taking the Fluoxetine/Prozac at night or switching to 50 mg of Zoloft at night which a friend of mine does, and she said it helps her sleep because before it was making her drowsy during the day, and she also takes 150 mg of Wellbutrin XL in the morning and she said the combination is working very well for her.

I take zoloft for anxiety and klonopin for depression. I have what is called situational anxiety/depression. I lost my husband to lung cancer in March and have now found out that one of my dogs has cancer.

I only take 50mg of Zoloft each day and I take the klonopin as needed. usually one to one and a half per day. I've been reading affimative thinking and that helps me to look at the good side of life.

I don't know about the other meds you've been on, but prozac didn't do a lot for me -- calmed down the worst, but didn't get me back to my "normal" self -- still felt under par all the time. Strikes me that you may be on the wrong meds for *you* (different meds have different impacts for different people) -- you've been on them long enough that there should have been much more improvement. You need to talk to your doc about this if it's still the case (and I realise that things might have moved on a lot as your original post was some time ago).

I'm so sorry your post was left adrift. -- Only thing I can think of is that sometimes there are a lot of new posts -- a kind of post rush! -- and threads fall off the first page more quickly (it's happened a couple of times recently). I'm sure nobody would have wanted you to be left without help -- we *do* care, very much. By contrast, the bipolar forum's quite quiet a lot of the time -- doesn't mean people don't care, just that they're not there sometimes to respond.
