theHTreturns...I have no doubt ECT works. it's nothing short of a miracle for psychiatric illnesses and has been effective for so many. as I've mentioned multiple times before, I would much prefer that my husband gets ECT as he's so uncooperative with his psychiatrist and is dishonest when it comes to the severity of his symptoms, med compliance and side effects. however, for those who have failed ECT or are greatly afraid of going the ECT route, I'm glad there's an up and coming alternative (that has been effective). we still don't know about the safety of ketamine in the long run but I'm glad more options are becoming available for those who are treatment resistant or severely ill.
again, if I had it my way, my husband would have started on ect 10 months ago given how sick he is. I am a believer and would never bash it.
