Still on the rollercoaster
Mom had another episode with a nightmare that she perceives has real. It seems she dreams these things and upon waking she's in between the sleeping and waking world and continues the nightmare. She asked me why do I have her chained to the bed. Why am I so mean-what did she ever do? Why did I tell everyone that her house just disappeared-so no one can find her? She says I'm evil and hell bound.
I reassure her and say she had a bad dream, that I would never do that- I love her. I'm sorry she is having nightmares. Eventually she comes around to somewhat normalcy. I know I can't let myself feel hurt by this but I do. Then yesterday she said My neighbor wanted to take my bills to send to you (I've been taking care of paying them) but I told him no- that you'll be here tomorrow. You're coming tomorrow right? I said no mom. But my care provider said you were. (I know she didn't) I said no you must have had a dream. Why aren't you coming?(I've made the trip twice recently. I have only a few days PTO and I am broke as a joke. My daughters wedding is in 2 weeks, etc etc etc. My next trip can't be until I get the feel she is days from death. Yes I have guilt guilt guilt) I was just on my way into a restaurant with my husband who feels totally neglected and rightfully so. Every waking hour I am either texting with care provider, taking phone calls from her or hospice providers or speaking with my mother on the phone. I don't know how my day job puts up with it. I see myself not getting my work done in a timely manner and my business I own with my husband has been put on the backburner. I only do the bare minimum and soon its going to all blow up in my face.
I feel totally guilty whenever I do anything for myself because something always happens- some mini crisis that I wasn't available to help out with.
Well on that note- I'm going to try and get a mani-pedi this morning and look for a mother of the bride dress. This should be a happy time for me but I just feel like it is work and a nuisance. I don't let on to my daughter this fact- but in my heart I'm just so low.

AND...did you know that I have one of the first Polaroid cameras ever made.
It was a gift in 1949, Still have it...although no film available anymore

I did not know that you owned a 1949 Polaroid Camera.

The first such camera I ever saw was in about 1955. I didn't realize that they went back even further than that.

A camera we did have in 1939 was an 8mm home movie camera.

It was invented in 1932 when they cut 16mm film in half, and came up with the home movie camera.

The first television I ever saw was in 1949.

Good morning all...
A cloudy day right now...with rain expected, BUT it will reach almost 70° today !!!!
Then, at least for the next ten days, it will sink down to the 50's and even the 40's.
Guess that's to be expected this time of year.

Mom has had several good days-her primary dr. was correct- hospice had her over medicated which was causing hallucinations and delusions. Appears the drugs are working out of her system

Still overwhelmed but dealing with it better during an upswing

Good day all--Up early to teach in China--the time change means I have to get up an hour earlier--since China does not follow savings time. I am tired, and ran out of my painkillers. Have tutoring all day, and will run over to pick the meds this afternoon. I am applying to a few other teaching services--lessons being scheduled are sporadic.

Down about Mom's death--down about the ending of my garden for the winter. Down about finances. Down about relationship. Just-down.

Mom continues to stay coherent and voice sounds strong
A week ago I was sure death was imminent
So as the roller coaster seems level I am trying to live in the here and now
Tonight I am looking forward to watching my favorite show while sipping a cocktail

Not all polar bears hibernate....only pregnant female polar bears do

It takes approximately a month for a polar bear cub to start to see and hear after it is born.

Even though a polar bear's fur looks white it is actually colorless and is made with hollow tubes.
The reason the bear looks white is because the rough inner surface of the tubes make light scatter and reflect at many different angles which gives the white appearance

Good Morning all. I am late to the party today. Moving slow because it is so cold. The sun is out but only suppose to be around 40 today.

I knew about the polar bear's color, but didn't know that they didn't usually hibernate. Except for pregnant females. Thanks Joyce for sharing.

Joyce, I hope you are having a good day today. I know about the phone calls. I have caller ID but that doesn't stop if from ringing.

I guess I better get moving. I need to go to the laundromat and the clothes wont go by themselves. Ha Ha...
