I know what Karen meant about lack of information, but I read your post on the anxiety board and here and think I understand it a bit better now. It seems like you are saying you have a phobia of serious illness and disability - I do too. I'm terrified of dying, not so much of what comes after death (which in my belief system is nothing), but the illness and pain beforehand. I never gave it a thought in my teens and early 20s - illness wasn't a part of my life at all. Now I sometimes think I've already been through enough pain (both physical and mental) to last me a lifetime and I really really don't want to have to spend the next 40-odd years of my life battling more pain.
So yeah, I can't claim to know *exactly* what you feel but I get the general idea of where you are coming from. Unfortunately we are where we are when it comes to medical science - which is a lot further along than it was 100 years ago, but still unable to cure or even really treat so many things. What I would really like to see is the development of safe, effective and non-addictive painkillers: so many people suffer from chronic pain.
Anyway, for whatever it's worth, I agree with Karen about seeing a therapist before seeing a psychic. In fact I wouldn't recommend seeing a psychic at all - they are best avoided completely imo. But a good therapist could help you.
