With the New Year fast approaching, I realized that I am excited for a new start.
In preparation of this new start, I've started to toss out the old to make way for the new. For example, I went through my closet and am going to donate clothes, which I haven't worn in over ten years, to a charity organization; these clothes mostly consist of suits and work attire which I have a negative association with as it reminds me of the horrible jobs and work experience I had. I can't even begin to describe the deep satisfaction I felt when I
cleared out the clothes and saw a less clutter closet.
I am also redecorating my home, of course on a limited budget, as I want a new look. I know this may sound trivial to some, but my clothes and home decor symbolizes my past; and I've been holding on to the past for so long that it has affected the present.
Anyway, I hope that the new year utter in positive changes and a new beginning for us. I know many of us are trapped by our depression, but I really hope that we can let go of the 'past' and bring about
these changes; I know...easier said than done, but we'll never know what may be unless we try.
