Yoo-hoo! Still alive
I'm so sorry I haven't been here for a while. I'd like to say that it is because I have been so busy, but that would be an abject lie. I did sign up to be an NHS volunteer a couple of months ago, but I've had hardly any work from that. I delivered a couple of prescript
ions and even that was a while ago now. The intention behind the scheme was good, but it seems like there were far more volunteers than people who actually needed help. So, really, I've been doing almost nothing. And as a result I've slipped into a weird kind of routine where sleeping patterns go to die. I've been going to bed later and later, until finally it was light when I went to bed. I'm trying to reverse that now, but it's actually a lot harder than it sounds. I just don't feel sleepy. Braindead, yes. All the time. Sleepy, no.
So what
have I been doing with my time? Exercise? Don't be ridiculous :p
Well, once a week I go over to my parents' house and take my mum to the supermarket. That's on a Saturday so I'll be going tomorrow. Nearly all shops are still closed, although DIY stores
opened a couple of weeks ago and garden centres have just re
opened. I do miss being able to go for a coffee. (Contrary to my name I usually have coffee when I'm out, as very few coffee shops make a decent cup of tea. Actually very few coffee shops make a decent cup of coffee, but I have gotten used to drinking £3 cups of black liquid mud, I suppose.)
The rest of the time I have been getting angry on Twitter and playing Geometry Dash. I have been trying to reduce my Twitter engagement, which means more time playing Geometry Dash. On the plus side I have gotten much better at Geometry Dash. On the down side, I'm not doing anything else, like reading, colouring in, jigsaw puzzles, artwork, learning, etc. It's weird: in one sense I have all the time in the world, obviously. And yet in another sense, it feels like time just races by each day and I have almost no time at all. All in all, I'd say my depression has decreased but my anxiety has increased. And I'd rather rage at a difficult level on Geometry Dash than rage about
the UK, the utter state of disrepair that it's in and the murderously inept cowboys it's run by.
To change the subject, I had a severe uveitis flare up which caused my vision to go foggy (very similar to how it was with cataracts). I phoned up the eye casualty last Friday. Nobody got back to me all day. I dithered and I doddered, but eventually I went to the local A&E. That was a tense time, I can tell you. Even though there were relatively few people there, I still waited 3.5 hours. There was a woman there who had a few coughing fits and I became absolutely convinced I wasn't going to leave that place without getting Covid-19. No matter how much hand sanitiser I used. Anyway, when I
finally saw a doctor, she was very nice. She also got me an appointment with the eye casualty for the next morning.
The eye casualty confirmed uveitis in both eyes, with the left eye being worse. Am on increased Maxidex - I would be in such trouble without this stuff. As for Covid-19, it's been a week since the A&E visit and no symptoms, so I'm
probably, but not yet definitely, out of the woods.
Anyway, I hope you are all doing well. How is everyone?
PS: My Irish citizenship has not arrived. Please hurry up and arrive soon D:
