If you have not gone to your doctor yet, I suggest doing that and being completely honest about your feelings.

Thanks, Trina... that's a good suggestion to make moving more regimented and systematic, as opposed to ad hoc. I guess I should know this, given that I worked for a moving company in high school, but I didn't really learn much there... except how tedious a job moving can be! 😂

Also, there seems to be at least one huge advantage to falling in love with a chef, at least if taking things in moderation (or there might be "unintended consequences" when looking at the bathroom scale).

was short visit, we were lucky to see her in this way. Not actually in the centre, good on the nurses. Mums birthday. Very shaky she was, sore knee from fall and at the end some psycho talk. turned 70.

If you can see beautiful fall colors in your area, that's definitely something to enjoy. No need to feel guilty about not taking advantage of the great outdoors, as even a short drive and quick walk can do wonders, if you have an hour or two. It can recharge the spirit and maybe paint the world in different colors, both literally and figuratively.

My son's surgery was successful...now for the rehab of the shoulder. He's tough and only 32, already had the left shoulder done, so this one should do as well, we hope.

Daughter got a job an an arts and crafts store. Schools are not back in session where she is living so no bus driving to be done yet.

I feel like someone is shoving an ice pick into the small of my back and the crest of my hip along with the ball and socket hurt like the dickens, especially with the cold mornings and nights. Lisa helped me with some more yard cleanup and tidying the shed, putting way the summer things and accessing the winter things.

The Montauk Daisies have begun blooming and I'm seeing buds on some of the Pineapple Sage. Our leaves are beginning to turn on the trees and bushes, too. The yew bush has it's berries and are looking right Christmasy already! Enjoying whatever sunshine is to be had!

I must be having a bad day, feeling overwhelmed in answering the posts!

Paul, why should we "have" learned something just be cause we did something in school at any grade, or a job for period of time, or new someone, yada, yada, yada.

No one is failure because because something is not known. In fact, we are able to get information so fast now compared to when I was in school. 60's and 70"s, that finding answers is self-compassion!! Self-soothing also!!

Kathy, Goodwill. Great place. There is a GW warehouse 25mins with traffic from me and a store right across from my bank.

I use to large print books to sell on Ebay. Ebay is to serious about business now, so I have stopped selling. never made money on it, so I am paying taxes on donations I can deduct. Crazy.

But I buy the biggest mens shirts they have and sheets, table clothes, for masks.. Our group unfortunately will be getting busy again. I also go through all the frames in the store. tubberware buckets full!
I buy the best older frames for my art work. The most I have spent is 4.99.
Lots or reused wood frames come in around here. and expensive from the historical areas nearby

Jamie so glad to got to see Mum even if it was out the window. Seeing a loved one always puts our mind at ease after days of what you just endured.

I hope Doodle is OK and up to date on her rabies shot! I had a squirrel in my pantry yesterday which my cat just ignored. I ended up blocking off all routes except the one to the front door and it just scooted out. The bear knocked over my recycling bin last night and chewed up a box of Kleenex- must have been disappointing. My garbage can lives in the garage so he can’t get at it.

Still pretty depressed. I get up and get dressed and maybe take the dogs for a walk and then watch you tube all day. I’m not sure what to do about it. I’m kind of maxed out on meds. I have a zoom spot with my therapist in 2 days, maybe that will help.

Interesting wildlife stories!

Did my usual run of the thrift shops. Found a nice oval mirror that I want to find a way to hang over my existing huge square attached to the wall in the bathroom. I've always liked that effect. I also found 2 turkeys, dressed as Pilgrims that I could not resist.

I decided to take a risk and use the rest of the removable wallpaper from the bathroom project and cover the vent windows in the peak of my living room walls. Before air conditioning, they were meant to relieve the hot air that would accumulate in summer. Neither would open fully anymore, nor would they close tightly, so I had them covered up with duct tape...leaving them as two ugly rectangles! Since the wallpaper is faux painted white brick, antique looking, it covers well considering it's not a smooth surface...the pattern hides it rather well. It's not a perfect solution but I like it much better now! Took me two days to do the two areas, a lot of cutting with a razor and matching the pattern as well as I could...fatigue of my hand and shoulders...but it's done!

Meeting with the social/mental health worker here tomorrow...by appointment only for now...to review my home energy assistance. Not looking forward to winter, as usual. Sleep is already terrible.

The garden is still offering up blooms! Two of my hardy hibiscus have given me encore performances and one of the tropical ones has, too! The Montauk Daisies are in full swing and I've found more buds on the Pineapple sage! Morning glory is still greeting me in the morning and the seed pods of the hyacinth bean are such a rich plum color! The little white 'wild' asters have bloomed and the ornamental grasses have their tassels! Some are copper, some are off white. I saw another Monarch at the butterfly bush...running a bit late I think! I've started putting the suet out for the birds that will remain through the winter, so they'll know where to come as the days get colder. I've heard and seen the cardinal that is a regular visitor, but have not seen his mate yet...I hope she's okay!

Hoping everyone is having a peaceful 24 hrs.

I read everyday, but rarely post. However, this long period of isolation has finally gotten to me on a visceral level. This last week I've been waking up with a feeling of dread that I just can't shake. Oh, I've still been going thru the motions - doing my chores, using my coping mechanisms, gardening, keeping up the house, etc. But can't seem to really feel like I'm engaged in anything. It's more like I'm sleep waking thru the day without hope for anything to ever feel or be different.

Oh, I know y'all can't do anything, just thought maybe typing this out into the world might make me feel a little more grounded in reality. Or is this disconnect the true reality? Hard to tell the difference anymore!!
