I like the ebb and flow of that poem.

Sounds like someone whose life is affected by the ocean.
Our section is affected by the ocean, also. Your poem is timely in that we have a hurricane coming in this direction. Sitting there watching the path of the storm. Cuba has been hit. Jamaica in or near the direct path, reminding of the song:
Down the way where the night's are gay,
And the sun shines daily on the mountain top.
I took a trip on a sailing ship
and when I reached Jamaica I made a stop.
But I'm sad to say, I'm on my way,
Won't be back for many a day.
My head is down, my heart is spinning around.
I had to leave a little girl in Kingston town.
