I take Mirtazapine antidepressant, also called Remeron.
As for which group it's in, drugs.com said it was a "Tetracyclic antidepressants."
I don't think that's in either of the groups you are mentioning (SSRI's/SNRI's).
There is only one other antidepressant (Ludiomil, generic name: maprotiline) in that class so it appears to be in a different group than the SSRI's/SNRI's you talked about

As to the side effects, you might want to look that up on the net.
Oh, of the Mirtazapine (Remeron), my psychiatrist started me off at 15mg a day. I got her to reduce it to half of that, 7.5 mg. a day, to take away a side affect. So I think they want to start you off at 15mg. but for me that was too much.
