Thanks Karen. You know my weakness, which, as I told somebody else one time, is “Not fair.”
Or as the Bee Gees put it:
To Love Somebody
Lyrics
There's a light
A certain kind of light
That never shone on me
I want my life to be lived with you
Lived with you
There's a way everybody say
To do each and every little thing
But what does it bring
If I ain't got you, ain't got?
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you
In my brain
I see your face again
I know my frame of mind
You ain't got to be so blind
And I'm blind, so, so, so blind
I'm a man
Can't you see what I am?
I live and I breathe for you
But what good does it do
If I ain't got you, ain't got?
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you
You don't know what it's like, baby
You don't know what it's like
To love somebody
To love somebody
The way I love you.

Thanks Karen (getting by) and Trina (BnotAfraid).
It was Joyce (PA grandma) who started a column of jokes and words of wisdom on this Depression forum, and whose last column was on 5/1/2018, and who passed away not long after that.
I helped her with her column for about a week and got used to looking up sayings so that I could do that column. So, recently I'm looking around under authors and comments they’ve printed, and it reminds me of those sayings that I put in the column.
And it reminds me of Joyce.
Or, as I put it then, “Some people are the heart of this thread and one was the soul.”

Tim Tam,
It was awesome of you to post this thread. I am glad you got a chance to help Joyce. She was a real good person. I will always remember her. She brightened up every day.
It has been close to two years since she passed. Thanks for adding dates. It is nice to remember her.
Feel free to post things if you feel like it. Trina does on occasion too.
Hugs, Karen...

PA Grandma, Joyce, use to post on this Depression forum, and for a while did a column of jokes and words of wisdom. Her last column was 5/1/2018 before she passed away not long after that.
For about a week, I wrote her column for her, which consisted largely of sayings. I came across some quotes from literature recently and they reminded me of the sayings. And they reminded me of Joyce.
The following applies to Joyce:
“A dream, all a dream, that ends in nothing, and leaves the sleeper where he lay down, but I wish you to know that you inspired it.”
—Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities
Or as aviator Amelia Earhart put it:
“A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees. The greatest work that kindness does to others is that it makes them kind themselves.”
In keeping things upbeat, Joyce herself wrote on 7-25-2016:
“You never know what you have…until you clean up your room.”
Joyce worked for a time as a radio announcer in Manhattan, according to an obit sent in to this forum by one of her sons. Her career as an artist included magazine and book illustration, commercial art, and sculpture, the obit noted.
Her last column was on May 1, 2018. She passed away Dec. 19, 2018, at 83, according to her obit.
There’ll never be another Joyce.
