Well, not only do I have Crohn’s and depression but I just got my biopsy results from the dermatologist. I have Squamous Cell skin cancer in 4 places on my face. I had Moes surgery 7 or 8 years ago to remove two fairly good size Basel Cells. I understand Squamous Cell is not nearly as bad as Melanoma but is worst the Basel Cell as far as spreading to other parts of the body. I’m concerned because people on immune suppressors (Imuran) are more susceptible to skin cancer. My GI didn’t think Basel Cell was a big deal because it is generally caused from sun damage. While this is apparently true most of the time with Squamous Cell, it isn’t always. I’m not sure what to think about taking Imuran. I guess my question is does any one know anything about the relationship between Imuran and skin cancer, especially Squamous Cell. I’m taking 100mg of Imuran, 3000mg of Pentasa and 10mg of Lexapro. I’ve been on the Imuran for about 5 months. I’ve been feeling pretty good the last few weeks after starting the Lexapro 6 weeks ago but I feel like I’ve been beat down today.
