Has anyone gone back on a medication/supplement you used to be on and had it work?

I am currently on Remeron for depression and Klonopin for anxiety, but feel the Remeron is pooping out on me. I don't feel as good as I used to.   I am thinking of going back on SAM-e (supplement) that I was on for awhile. I was on it for three years and depression free.  I was wondering, if it would work again, if I went back on it.  Was wondering if anyone has gone back on a medication that they used to be on and had it work again?  I am a bit fearful of trying a new antidepressant and side effects.  Thanks for reading.
