I take 90 mg of Cymbalta every night for depression and anxiety. My doctor recently prescribed Provigil to me for "motivation during the day"..He also gave me sleeping pills so that I would sleep through the entire night(Ambien 12.5 mg), but I do not take them because they knock me out, and there is no hope of waking up on time in the morning. I also tried reducing the dosage of the sleeping pills, and I felt absolutely nothing, and I still could not sleep. After taking Provigil for about 4-5 weeks, I have begun to have extremely vivid dreams. I used to have nightmares when taking just Cymbalta, but now those dreams have changed since Provigil has begun to run its course. I wake up seriously believing that the things that occured in my dreams are real. I have episodes of dreams, probably more than 10-15 a night. I have been taking Provigil at night, and since I have recently researched the medicine further, it seems as if the proper way to take it is in the morning...is this true?? This could be a possiblity as to why I am having such difficulty in having a regular nights sleep. I am tired all day, and at any point of the day I could fall right asleep-no problem..does anyone suggest anything else for this same problem I have?? The depression side is a lot better, Cymbalta has really pulled through. I do have crazy mood swings though, usually when I skip a day of meds. I just want to feel on the inside how others look on the outside: normal. I can't get through a semester's college without failing..I have trouble staying focused at work..sleep is my #1 hobby. Please help.
