I'm new to this site and want to hear someone elses opinon.  I was in the hospital and the Psychiatrist put me on Effexor and Remron at night.  Once I got out and went to new Psyc he changed my and put me on Lamictial instead of Remron.  Does anyone out there know anything about Lamictil?

Hi pieces,  Welcome to healing well forum.  I take effexor xr for depression at 225 mg dosage but I take mine in the morning as I find that it makes me jittery and sort of wired.  Lamictal is a rather new drug to the market and has a duel purpose for treating seizures and bipolar disorder.  I don't have BP and have never been on this med.  I have pulled up this website for you to look at if your interested.  I do know that there are several people on the bipolar forum that do that Lamictal and do very well on it, if you want to post over there you are more then welcome to.  I hope you continue to post as healing well is a great place to find information and support from people who are going through the same thing.  We are always here...take care http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/lamotrigine_pi.htm

I haven't heard of it either but I do take Remeron at night. I'm not bi-polar either, just depressed.

I take Remeron at nite,It works great.
