Hey, this forum is great but the eating disorder forum that was on healingwell is gone.ages ago, like 3 years ago, there was one. anyway, does anyone know of other sites that have helpful stuff about eating disorders?depression is a problem for me that comes and occassionally goes. unfortunately so is that horrible A word, anorexia.(i hate that word!)looking for some support now that i have the internet at home.

Hey skelewhale, I am sorry that we dont have what your looking for eyes .  This website... http://www.pale-reflections.com/  has alot of great information and they do have a online forum for people with eating disorders.  And if you decide it isnt for you they also provide links to other places that you may be interested in browsing...so it is a good jumping point.  Good luck in your searching.  Take care

I have anorexia too, so I understand where you may be coming from. I also have been moderately depressed lately, and I just started taking Effexor for that. If you ever want to talk, feel free to email me anytime. Take care.

Hi jellybean, I have been taking effexor for the last 3 months and its really helping me. It takes a few weeks to kick in though.

hey jellybean.i am surviving, thanks for your msg.i have been taking prozac forever it seems.i guess it takes the edge off the pain and helps a bit with excessive crying but it is no cure.anxiety is creeping in now, about being fat, eating too much, xmas etc.i took zyprexa for that when i was just out of hospital but it has the side effect that you don't feel full so you kinda feel hungry all the time!it was terrible!i might go back to my therapist after xmas.i think we will all need that!it is a crazy time of year even tho it should be really happy:(

I completely understand. I was so nervous for Thanksgiving, my doctor prescribed me Ativan to get through it. I was hospitalized for my eating disorder, and while I was there they tried to put me on the Zyprexa, but it made me severely dizzy and orthostatic. I never got the increased appetite though, but I may not have been on it long enough for that side effect to kick in. I had to go back to the psychiatric hospital to get reevaluated for admission, and the ER doc tried to prescribe me a pill to make me gain weight, but I said no thanks, I'm not ready for that yet. What I am sick of is always counting calories, and feeling like I can never go over a certain number or I'm a horrible person and then I need to be punished. Now with Christmas coming up, I have to worry about even more holiday food. It is so triggering. I just wish for once, I could let myself indulge in one cookie or something, but my fear of food is just too much. The holidays are definitely not a jolly time of year all the time for me. Take care.
