I've been dealing with the double whammy for ever. I haven't had a complete night's sleep without waking up in 5-10 years. I wake up 7-10 times every night. I was supposed to go to a sleep clinic a couple of years ago but I developed cancer. I've been very depressed for years and it finally came to a head a couple of months ago. That is when I broke down and called a pychiatrist. I've been taking lithium for bipolar swings as well as Zoloft, wellbutrin, and currently remeron. I've moved up to the max does of remeron because the effects keep wearing off. My pychiatrist took me off the lithium because she wasn't seeing the desired effects. Right now I'm on 45mg of remeron. For the sleep I started taking ambien, then ambien CR, then Lunesta, finally she started me on Amnytriptaline. The reason she started me on this is because I took it years ago for my IBS and it made me sleeply. I started on 50mg, then 100mg, and now I'm taking a horse pill 150mg. Now I'm having trouble falling asleep as well. My sleep paterns have been getting worse. I don't sleep through the night and now I'm a zombie during the day. If you have ever taken a high does of Amnytriptalin you know what I'm talking about
This is what I'm talking about when I say double whammy. I can't sleep well to get energized and this only makes my depression worse because I just drag through the day.
Has anyone had the no sleep and depression combination? Has anyone found a good sleep drug besides the one stated up above? Thanks for your help!
