discontinuing zoloft..weight issues

Hello all,

I am new here and have some questions. I have been on Anti's for 2 1/2 yrs (wellbutrin and Zoloft) Zoloft only for the past 1 1/2. I was up to 200mg and have gained 25lbs. With my Dr's okay I have been weaning down since January 07 and am at 50mg. When will this weight come off?

Welcome to the board I am very glad that you found us.

With excerise and good eating habits you should be able to get the weight off. I would keep in contact with your doctor and let him know the progress.

Hi Esmith,
Nobody can give you an exact answer as it is very individual. Have you tried exercise and diet somewhat lower in calories than usual?

If you won't be able to get the weight off during a certain time, you can discuss with you doctor about further dose lowering, weaning completely from Zoloft, switching to another antidepressant or something other your doctor or you suggest.
