Wellbutrin and weight loss

I read a lot on the internet about this drug and its potential for being a weight loss drug. There are warnings even about giving this drug to patients with eating disorders. I was just wondering about other people's experiences with this drug? weight loss or weight gain?

Welcome to the forum,I am very glad that you found us and I hope you find the support you are looking for.
I had an eating disorder that I had not told my doctor about. He put me on wellbutrin along with tranxene and I basically lost what little appetite I had in the first place.
Alot of anti depressants can cause gain or loss it seems.
The best thing to do is keep in contact with your doctor and let them know if you start experience it.

Well, I can't say one way or another as I haven't taken it yet (my appointment is tomorrow), but I hope it causes weight loss as I could definitely use that after being on prednisone for the past few months!
