freaking out a little

i started the lamictal last night and have been on the verge of panic ever since, waiting for all these horrible side effects to strike me. i think my own mind is my worst enemy right now. i called the doctor this morning and told her i wanted off all meds but she left a message on my answering machine begging me to stay on the lamictal to see if it would help. i'm seeing her again on thursday morning.

i'm starting to get more anxious because i'm so worried that a) the meds won't work or b) the meds will make me so sick i'll end up in the hospital. in any case, i'm just worried that i'll stay this depressed forever and i can't deal with that.

if anyone else out there is having success with lamictal, i would appreciate some insight.

I have never been on lamictal,but have read numerous posts from members that tell us it works.

Most meds can take 4-6 weeks to take full effect. The side effects are different for everyone. That is just the case with these types of meds.

If your doctor thinks that you should be on them,then they obviously are worried about you.
What is the worst thing that can happen? It doesn't work then you go off of it and that is that. But you do need to give it time to start feeling the advantages.

Now,meds do not take all of the pain away,they help with depression but what you have to do is find out what triggered the depression in the first place and deal with that the best you can.
Are you in counseling? Do you have family that you can talk to?
