Hi there,
I thought I would start your own thread so that you didn't get overlooked.
Welcome to the forum,I am sure you will find the support that you are looking for here.
I have been off of meds now for 2 years and believe me it is a constant battle everyday to keep off of them.
The first thing you need to do is make sure you are dealing with what has triggered your depression in the first place, whether that is done with therapy or family support.
Then you need to make sure your environment is healthy enough to be able to move on,and not have the constant reminders of the depression. (I had to move to a different town as I am divorced from a abusive man,and he basically moved 1 block away from me!)
Then, when you feel like you can get through a day without a daily episode, then you need to talk to your doctor about getting off of meds. Please don't try to do it on your own,as sometimes the meds can give you bad withdrawals that can be serious.
