I've been weepy all day today. I just cant seem to shake this feeling of depression. I know I should be grateful for what I have, but right now it doesn't seem like much. And this is going to be one of the worst Christmas's in more than 20 years. I haven't been out of the house because it will just get me more depressed knowing I cant get anything for my family because Im not working and going threw SSD paper work. My son is in a juvenile detention center and I wont have our family together first it was thanksgiving now christmas. He will be there for the next year. Monday I've got to go to a local help office and beg them to help us with our electric bill because we don't have the money to pay. I wish we would just get a break. We moved to this small town about 2 years ago to get our son out of where we were living because he had just gone thru rehab and he needed to get out of the area we were in. We sold our house and picked up and moved almost 2000 miles. We don't have any family or friends here and I feel sooo alone.

The holidays are so hard when you don't have money. I pray that you get help with your bills. I am sorry to hear about your son. I am glad that you were able to leave a place that wasn't right for your family. I know this is a hard time for you but please try not to give up. Hopefully you and your family can at least have a wonderful dinner together and enjoy eachother. I know these words can't change anything or fix it, but you are in my thoughts and prayers. I have been in your situation and I know that it is awful stressful. Keep your chin up, try to look for the little things that can make you happy. The holidays are so commercialized any more and the true meaning of Christmas is often forgotten. I hope that you can find peace and joy with your family this year.

I hate feeling like this, I have been dealing with depression and anxiety for 25yrs and when the black times come it always feels like the light is so far away. I'm not sure if this is just holiday depression or if I should make an appointment with my doctor and see if he needs to adjust my meds.

You should probably talk to your doctor. The holidays are hard. I always have a difficult time during and shortly after the holidays. My cousin died last year due to depression in February, he just couldn't get above it. So I feel it is very important that we support eachother during this time and I hope the very best for you and your family. I am glad you are able to talk about this and I know good things are coming your way. It just seems to take so long.

getting by thank you again. I am sorry to hear about you cousin. My son is bipolar and I always use to tell him suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. I cant remember being that black. It is a tragedy when someone is lost like that. If I could have any wish for this holiday season it would be for people who feel that desperate to just take a minute to call a hotline for help.

So well put. I think you are right about that. I wish more people knew about this forum too. I was lucky to have found it. Most people don't even know this is here.
There is help out there but I can see where people do give up. I hope that I really did help you some. I think getting things out whether we type it here or just ask for some help is one of the first steps we can take to feeling better. There are too many of us that keep it all inside when just a listening ear or a shoulder can help us to keep on going.
