PRE(?) diabetic?

The young nurse in my doctor's office told me she is PRE diabetic and on Metformin 1000 twice a day. With out the metformin, her blood sugar goes to 300. She eats whatever she wants. This is diabetic, isn't it?? See what I mean about most doctor here? Go figure.

Without question, anything that causes 300 bs is diabetic. There must be other symptoms as well or why would she have tested her sugar in the first place?  I remember the day I decided to test myself and the list of symptoms was long and unmistakeable.

I am with you Jeannie:) I sure got more help here than from the doctors. I was let out of hospital with only metformin and no diet plan with bs in the high 400's. I was back to hospital three days later and almost died. THEN, I found this place and trained myself how to eat with all your help. I have a nasty cold and still my bs is staying down. If I ate the ADA diet, I would be in so much trouble. Luckily, I found a Diabetic Clinic that agrres with the low carb diet and even recommends it. Thanks:)
