Good question about
the menopause angle. I'm 67, but when I was 49 I started gaining weight and having symptoms of blood sugar ups and downs, high triglycerides & cholest. It wasn't until this year an ultra-sound for pain showed a fatty liver, gallstones and blood tests classified me as pre-diabetic.
I went on a diet, based mostly on diabetic terms for the last 8 weeks and have lost about 10 lbs. I tried Metformin but Dr. took me off after 6 wks. I got a meter and have test periodically but I'm still learning what my readings mean and what to do about it.
I believe this all started with my total hysterectomy and thus menopause.
