Can anyone tell me where the best place to buy testing supplies would be. I have the TrueTrack meter, and specifically am looking for the best price on test strips.

I am buying 50 strips for $31 at my pharmacy, and Walgreens has about the same price.

Anyone found better on the internet or something?

have you tried liberty or great lakes diabetes supplies?
You might ask for the meter with the cheapest test strips. Your meter might not be the cheapest strips.
I have 2 diabetics, and they both use one touch, and I would say we get them at great prices

I use reli-on from walmart. $12 machine and test strips range from $9-$25 without a perscription. My doctor hasn't ordered me to test regular, but I do anyway. He says I'm pre-diabetic and just need to lose weight.

Often, but not always, the "store brand" meters do have the least expensive test strips.

I used to use the Reli-on meter and strips from Wal Mart when I was first diagnosed as my insurance at the time would not cover testing supplies until I ended up on insulin.

Just me but, I wouldn't buy my supplies on-line. Many do (for some their only option) but, I just feel more secure with buying from a pharmacy - especially if something goes wrong (like a recall).

All test meter must comply by the same standards (i.e. testing on 2 different meters might give slightly differing results but should be within allowed standard deviation). Most meters are given free with the purchase of 100 test strips. Many pharmacies have this "unadvertised" deal available for the asking - including Wal-Mart (at least here in Ontario). The price difference is in the test strips. Some of the newer models with the more expensive strips have more bells & whistles on the meter but, essentially perform the same function as all the others - analysing blood.

I think Costso & Sam's club have been mentioned a number of times in the past. Check for manufacturer's coupons and stuff available on-line, too. Worth a try?

I ended up talking with my insurance.  They said they would cover under Master Medical, but not at a pharmacy - they can only bill prescriptions.  SO...they referred me to Byram.com and I had to call and setup an account.  They are going to bill my insurance, and I will only have to pay 10 percent ($22) for 200 strips.  Woohoo!  But now I have meter trouble!  I will post that under a diff. topic.

$22.00 for 200 strips is an awesome price! Good for you for calling your insurance - it's by their rules you gotta play by, right? Might as well get the scoop from them :-)
