Another New Dosage

Hi....Went to the regular GP on Monday and she raised my Basal Insulin (Lantus) to 16 Units. Also was changed to Glucophage XR because of stomach aches.  Am scheduled to see the new Endocrinologist on 11-14-11. The GP sent me for tests, and I asked her to include a C-peptide test to see how many beta cells I had left that were working. I am going to take the tests to the new doctor when I go.  I'll get a copy of the test results on Friday.  I told her that I'm going to go to the specialist to get more aggressive treatment and if he is not willing to work with me, then I'm heading to New York to see Dr. Richard K. Bernstein, the top Doctor in the country for Diabetes.  Will let you all know what happens at the Endo's appointment.

I am following Dr. Richard Bernsteins recommendation of 6 gms carbs at breakfast, 12 gms at lunch, and 12 at dinner. I just have the problem of being hungry all the time.
