I once gave myself a glucose tolerance test (not on purpose). I ate a chocolate peanut butter bunny one Easter, and I spiked to nearly 200 (can't remember the reading).
I had such tight control before that and I just jumped in and ate the dumb bunny. Of course *I* was the dumb bunny here.
Anyway, if and when we go to a Chinese restaurant, we go to one that has a buffet, so I eat soup and veggies and some kind of meat - but you're right that many times the sauces have sugar in it. It's probably the way American-Chinese food is prepared here.
