I'm not a doctor but I've been injecting since
1964 so I'm offering this information based on
personal experience.
I too deal with elevated blood sugars at night.
I've since learned that the liver stores carbs
during the day and processes and releases the
sugars overnight. My last meal is 4pm. I inject
NPH before going to bed and wake up next morning
with normal blood sugars. Oddly enough, I inject
more insulin before bedtime than any other time,
and have been for over 5 years with no negetive
effects. The key is to test before going to bed!
If your sugars are low - extremely low use caution
when injecting. When my sugars are high - extremely
high, I include 5 units of Regular....
Talk to your doctor (a specialist is ideal).
Good luck!
