Rosie,
Diabetes is a puzzle for all who have it. The problem is no one solution fits all people with diabetes. You are in a very important place and YOU need to be your own best advocate. Not to brag, but of course I am right about insulin and bydureon. GLP-1 antagonists are my thing. I have followed Bydureon for the past three years during clinical trials and FDA hearings and the like. Once you know how your diabetes is best managed you will be just as educated. I have no doubt of that.
Given your story, I would be cautious about using bydureon because of your reaction to Victoza. I also see that you are mentioning your family doctor. Because of your specific issues surrounding exposure to GLP-1 antagonists and pancreatitis, I have to renew my thoughts that you need to see an Endocrinologist. Some people are able to get by with relying on their GP for diabetes care, but again because of your condition you cannot afford to have your GP be wrong. I don't care if you have a new doctor the level or seriousness of your diabetes necessitates a higher more specific level of care.
