Blood Sugar

Hi,

I had two brain surgeries due to a pituitary adenoma (around 4cm big) one in March 2012 (Nasal) and the other July 2012 (Cranial). I also had a gamma-knife surgery to stop the regrowth of the adenoma in September 2012. Right now I am experiencing hypopituitarism and taking hormone replacement therapy. Right now I am on the following medication:

40mg Nexium in the morning
12.5mg Hydrocortisone in the morning and 5mg in the evening
125mcg Euthyrox in the morning
Sustanone (Testosterone) shot every 4 weeks.

Every morning when I wake up my blood sugar is around 80 mg/dL. I take Euthyrox and Nexium before eating and the hydrocortisone after eating. Then my blood sugar keeps dropping for about an hour. I usually measure 70 when it is dropped but on some occasions I measured as low as 65. This drop gives me anxiety so I take 0.25mg of Xanax sometimes. I generally feel better in the afternoon and in the evening when my blood sugar is around 80-100.

My doctor thinks this might be Reactive Hypoglycemia from what I read is an early symptom of Type 2 diabetes. So I wonder if it is true or normal ?

The first surgery was totally failure. They took most of the tumor in the second surgery. My last MRI in November showed 1.5 cm of adenoma residue left which indicates that there has been no regrowth. The gamma-knife treatment was done to shrink the tumor left but not totally 100%. I generally eat at 8:00 AM. A glass of milk or fruit juice and a toast. Actually I measure 90 just after eating but then drops to 70s as I said. Then I eat a snack around 10:00 to 10:30 up to meal.

The problem was due to thyroid medication. I previously took Euthyrox after Nexium which decreased and slowed down the absorption of Euthyrox. Now, cunsulting my doctor, I am taking Euthyrox at least half an hour before Nexium with bare stomach and little water and there is no decrease in my blood sugar after eating. Thanks for your time.
