Even though I do not like CJOH news, they do some times have a good story, not many, if you have diabetes or know someone who has it will be interesting to you, not that I am not holding my breath waiting for the results, I have heard this type of stuff all before

Just talked to my Diabetic Nurse about
this, she knows the lady in the video and they are very excited about
it, so maybe there is hope, maybe not for us old people

There was news here in the Houston Texas newspaper about
several research groups working on stem cells to do all sorts of things from growing hearts for replacement to hunting down individual cancer cells. I hope they can apply this research to growing a new pancreas - or as in the case of one study - using stem cells to "teach" the non-working or mutated cells how to function properly. They worked with the body's own healing system to correct the enzymes/hormones. The only discouragement is that the researchers always add the caveat: "in the next five to ten years". Now would be a good time! But thankfully breakthroughs seem to be on the horizon. And Will's article was a NOW solution.

Stem cells seem to be in the news a lot and I feel there should be more trials with them.

Do you have diabetes, Philly, or are you a spammer?
