I have a box of test strips that I opened in March 2013. (The Expiration is 2014). Are they okay to use?

I put test solution on one of the strips and it gave a reading within the range on bottom of container.

I read somewhere that you must use them within 6 months after opening.

I think I posted a similar question sometime ago, but can't seem to find it on this site.

If they tested okay, they're good. I don't even worry until after the expiration date.

Go by the expiration date.  If you have any doubts whatsoever, call the toll-free number on the box.

I was talking to Bayer and girl said strips can be made not only in USA, but also in Japan, and elsewhere.

Have you ever checked the box to see where your's were made?

So as long as it didn't reach the expiry date yet, its okay to use, my mom has it too. One more thing most of the medicines, if they put an expiration date, it still has an allowance of a month.. they say its still safe to use
