My 20 year old granddaughter has just been diagnosed with epilepsy as well as everything else she has to deal with. Unfortunately she is not dealing with her medications and is in a very bad place at the moment.
Is there any help out there? Her parents are at their wits end and feel she might do herselfpermanent damage.

Welcome to this forum.  I'm really sorry about your granddaughter.  I'm sure having these health problems make it hard for her especially at this young age.  Have her parents discussed this with her doctor?  There must be some support groups where she lives.  If they haven't been in contact with them, at least one of her doctors should be able to refer them.  Sometimes local hospitals have special groups for young people too.  I hope others have suggestions for you.

Thanks for your email. Her parents are seeing a gp tomorrow. So far she has refused to join a group

I'm glad the parents will be talking to the doctor. It's hard to force a person to join any group. I suppose there are lots of reasons for that but as you know it would really be helpful for your granddaughter to be able to talk to another person her age.

Welcome to the forum bjm, what type of Epilepsy does she have Petit or Grande mall(sp) I had Petit when I was younger it wasn't to bad too live with just couldn't climb or ride a bike or such activities I out grew it just as I turned Diabetic, she is at an age too when denial is normal. Don't push or you could lose her
