Welcome to HealingWell, Prabha_annie. May I ask who "he" is? Your husband, your father, your son?
First of all, I don't know how anyone can say his medication is keeping his blood sugar level if he never tests. How does he know what his blood sugar is? Does he have regular visits to the doctor to check?
If he's not checking his blood sugar, it might be too high or too low - and this may be causing him to sleep all the time. In general, this is not healthy, as you know. I'm sure you're very concerned about this. Can you speak to his doctor?
Food and exercise has a direct effect on blood sugar. If he's eating a lot of carbohydrates like rice, potatoes, bread, anything made with flour or sugar and he's not getting any exercise, his blood sugar is probably not controlled at all even if he is taking medication. This is why it's important to test. And this is why he needs to have the doctor instruct him about diet and exercise if he will not listen to you.
Is there any chance he would like to read our posts here at HealingWell?
