I'm sorry you're not doing well on this. I don't take glipzide so I can't say what is best from personal experience. I have read that it is most effective when taken about half an hour before eating rather than with food. Like metformin, this medication can cause stomach problems though and that really varies with the individual.
I think you should inform your doctor's office and ask what you should do first. At home, make sure your food plan does not include too many carbs or food made with a lot of oil/fats. I know that with metformin, this makes the gut reaction worse and it might do the same with glipzide - I'm just guessing here.
Also, with your blood sugar still in the 200's, it's possible that this combination of meds is not the best. Since it's almost a week, ask your doctor why your blood sugar isn't lower. Maybe you need a different class of drugs; maybe insulin. I don't know. If your blood sugar isn't coming down closer to normal, maybe an endocrinologist can help you better.
Let us know how you're doing! I hope you get some other suggestions, too.
