Type 1 traveling

So, my plan is to do a road trip across the States with some friends in July and I'm from Europe. I did get a medical certificate for the insulin already, but how about dealing with the flight itself and the time difference being a type 1 having to take multiple injections.

Obviously, I will have to take the insulin in a specific way to adjust to the new time zone, but how? Does anyone have any other practical safety tips for me?

i will be doing it for the third time actually. australia to uk. i take short and long lasting. i disregarded the time zones. i followed my body and sugar readings and stayed on my schedule. i did not take night time needle. sugars were up a little, but even with a diabetic diet you don't get a lot of tucker, but a little more here and there. i keep my watch on my time and follow my schedule. when i arrive i will adjust. happy travels. take glucose gel or other for hypos. and snacks if you are transiting. make sure you glucose meter has a light, it helps. this is my method. others may have different methods. keep well.
