I think I'm having sugar withdrawal .
I'm plagued with heartburn and headaches since I stopped sugar and lowered my carbs yesterday morning.
Is there such thing as sugar withdrawal?
I've always had at least one sweet a day (sometime more
)

I honestly don't know if there is 'sugar withdrawal'. However! Several members in the past who had been living with really high blood sugar for awhile wrote that when they started on meds and also cut down on heavy carbs that they sometimes felt shaky or sweaty, like the feeling someone might get at very low blood sugar. The reason for this is the body was getting used to
normal
blood sugar. Those uneasy feelings pass as the body gets used to blood sugar at normal levels.
Maybe that's it?

I've had headaches, but can't exactly pinpoint the reason. It could very well be the difference in blood glucose. Or it's just the fact that I didn't drink enough water.
It was very bad 2 years ago except that my blood glucose levels had stayed good for a long time. Anyways, I had a headache, even felt a little bit feverish especially after concentrating on a task for few hours, and that lasted for weeks. I started drinking a lot more water and taking magnesium pills - actually fixed it.
It still occasionally returns though, but very rarely. I had one last month. That headache lasted for a week and then stopped.
Not sure about
sugar withdrawal though, but it's true the body can adjust to elevated sugars making the now high glucose feel like the norm.
