Hi :-)

Im jusr wondering what the signs and symptoms you had prior to diagnoses. I am being investigated for a cytoscopy but i have recently found glucose and key tones on the regular on urine dipstick results.

I am sometimes up all night having to urinate.

I have Ulcerative Colitis and since diagnoses continual UTI's and 2 kidney infections. I suspect something more is happening other that just this. Also i have difficulty starting urine stream and find some days i could hold my urine in all day without the need. It is all being investigated i just wanted your thoughts.

Untreated diabetes can produce various symptoms: extreme thirst, frequent urination, sometimes lightheadedness, headaches, hunger, frequent UTIs. A simple blood test or two can tell you and the doctor if your blood sugar is too high.

If I were you, I would tell the doctor everything that you wrote here immediately. One blood test can be done at any time of the day: the A1c. This will tell you what your average blood sugar has been for the past 90 days. Otherwise, you would have a fasting blood test which you would have in the morning before you eat or drink anything besides water.

Thanks and yep i am scheduled for all these bloods, i told doc all this and he is concerned so investigating it all.

Great! I'm glad you're scheduled for some lab tests! I hope they can find out what's going on and get you feeling better.

I see in your signature that you had been on prednisone. This is one drug that will raise blood sugar and while a person is on it, the doctor usually monitors the patient's blood sugar. Do you know if your doctor did that?

hello I currently take Victoza my insurance company will no longer cover this medication for me, I go to the doctor in March please pray she finds the right medicine for me thanks

Welcome to HealingWell, Carmel68. There are several good medications for diabetes and I'm sure your doctor will find another one that will work well for you. Can you please start an new thread about yourself and give us more information? Thanks!
