A1c is finally down..

My a1c was 11-13 between April- June of last year don't remember. I get test at 3 different places. 2 different Dr office. 1 place that has classes for diabetes and they do a1c every three months also.
Latest from 1 Dr. As I don't remember the result from other. 6.5. The diabetic class, September was 7.1 or 7.2. They just checked it a day or to ago. 6.5. Hopefully when Dr doesn't it again it will be lower. Cause when it's always lower than the when the diabetic class does it. smilewinkgrin

Welcome to the Diabetes Forum at HealingWell, Sandiiv. I hope your A1c is indeed coming down! What kind of medication are you on for diabetes?

Levermi, metformin, victoza, jardiance
I believe it is the jardiance is what's doing it. The only
New medicine is jardiance and metformin. Been on metformin before and it never took my a1c down like this before.

I had never heard of jardiance. I hope you continue to get better results. Remember that if you change your eating plan that your medications may have to be adjusted.

Metformin does not lower blood sugar by itself but it works to help your body use the insulin you are still producing. This, like other diabetes drugs including insulin, is more effective if you do not eat a lot of starchy food like rice, potatoes, bread (anything made with flour) and any food made with sugar.

Also, if you are taking medications for other issues that they might also affect blood sugar so be sure to know their side effects!
