In my experience, oatmeal always raised my blood sugar. In any case, testing at about
two hours after you start breakfast will tell you how it works for you.
There are recipes for breakfast on this website:
forum.lowcarber.org/index.php?. And, you can make some egg muffins with almost anything and then freeze them or keep them in the fridge for a few days and pop them into the microwave before you eat them. Mix up eggs with grated cheese and a vegetable like broccoli, mushrooms, cauliflower, etc., then fill muffin tins and bake till they're done. You can even do this with ground meat, like mini-meatloaves and veggies.
My fasting is really good after I've had dinner which is any piece of protein (fish, chicken, pork, etc.), some sauteed bell peppers and a salad plate that I assemble like: olives, cut up cucumber, cut up string cheese, radishes, baby spinach, maybe a small tomato. Sometimes I don't like an actual salad so I just put these varied things on a plate and pick them off as I'm eating dinner. Now, other family members like to do the same thing.
I'm wondering about
such a jump up in metformin if you're also going back to a low-carb eating plan. Of course your blood sugar will be much lower, but be careful about
feeling off if your blood sugar is much lower than it was before.
I know you can get control back! That's great!
