Hello,
I use to be a alcoholic, a very bad one, over two decades. I've been clean for seven months now. I had a couple of ultrasounds, CT scans, fribroscan, and Liver biopsy done with in the last 2-4 months. I do have mild perpitol fribrosis, and fatty liver.

What about the pancreas? I notice for about three years my constipation has been getting worse. First, I use Fibri suppumnets to have a bowels movements and now I have move to Lactulose for using the toilet. I do have slight discomfort right side rib cage but seem to be getting better with my diet, that can be gallstones. I got oily stools too

I would like to know the signs of pancreas cancer? Is constipation one? I notice am bloating a lot, I use to belch and pass gas but now that don't happen to much no more. I took six months off exercising because I caught Alcohol Hepatitis but now back in the gym. I eat fruits and vegetables but that really don't help by itself.

what is the test or procedure Gastro doctor do for checking pancreas? My enzymes was a little high from hepatitis but I believe the last time they check, they were normal.

Tell me the signs and should I be worried??? and let me know the test to ask for...Thanks in advance!!!

Welcome to the Diabetes Forum. First of all, congratulations on being clean and I hope this continues and that your health improves and remains that way!

I am posting a link to a site that describes pancreatic cancer symptoms but please do not use this to self-diagnose. Many conditions share the same symptoms and only tests and exams that doctors order can say what the problem is.

A pancreas damaged by any means may lead to blood sugar problems which in turn may or may not lead to diabetes. An endocrinologist is a specialist in the endocrine system (all our glands) and if you think that you need to be evaluated by one, then please make an appointment to see one. I think it would be best to speak to your present doctors first about your concerns.

Blood sugar tests are easy to do both in any doctor's office or at home. These tests will show if your blood sugar levels are normal or not, but these tests only measure blood sugar and are not a way to diagnose cancer.

Have you had your blood sugar levels tested?

thanks for the response back...going to see my GI doctor on the 23rd and when my dietician check my blood work it was normal...but Ive been on diabetes medicine for the past three months also.

You've been on diabetes medication for three months? Then, what has your blood sugar been? Which medication are you on?

Ranitinine 150mg and Januvia 25mg...don't know the before blood sugar....why you ask? thanks again

I'm asking because I didn't realize you were already on diabetes meds. If you are, then you should be testing your blood sugar yourself at home. Didn't the doctor prescribe a meter and test strips for you?

If she won't give you one you can get a cheap one at walmart called Reli-on.

Yes, if you're in the US, Walmart sells its own inexpensive brand ReliOn and the matching test strips and you don't need a prescription for them. In any case, since you are on diabetes medication, you should be testing your blood sugar. Please ask your doctor about this.

Your doctor doesn't seem too knowledgeable in this area. Might look for a second opinion on the matter.

Many of the symptoms you describe sound like those described by people with liver problems. You might want to check also on the Hepatitis forum.
