I know what you mean but I think it's the stress talking. You may still be in the denial stage and I think you're still angry with the insurance situation.
I hope that you're still reading through the blood sugar 101 site which I had posted several times here. The more you know about
your blood sugar, the better you will be at controlling it. The best we can all do is eat right and move - no, not move to Katmandu, lol, although sometimes that sure looks good to me. This will always be in your life but as you take the steps to control it better, I think you'll be more comfortable. And what those steps are going to be is the key.
Personally, I would not look to change dosage or add another drug because I would look more carefully at what I'm eating. I would continue or got back to keeping a food journal and see if my eating plan is good or not, and basically it comes down to the amount of carbs as always. But that's me. I realize we're all different.
Stress, aggravation and illness will all affect our blood sugar and these happen. Hopefully we don't have to live with these forever. There are ways to deal with stress and aggravation. Illness is different because we can't necessarily control this. It might be short-term or chronic. But with all these, we have to figure out how to control them and speaking with our doctor/s is a good start.
My approach to diabetes may not be the same as yours but it's worked very well for me for over ten years.
So, I would take a deep breath, think a few four-letter words, take a walk and sit down with my husband and talk things out, a plan on dealing with the insurance. Then, I would look back at my old food journals and try to go back to my eating plan.
I hope it all calms down for you!
