Well folks, can you believe that this week it will already be a month that I have been on my medication and going back to the doctor? It went by fast. My question is this...my sugar levels have gone down (thanks to my diet, meds, and EXERCISE), but if they arent exactly where they should be, is the doctor going to change my medication? My first day, my levels were (before meal, 2 hrs after):

300/206/233/303/243/227

to

159/182/140/152/127/148

I know they are still high, but it's slowly working..... I am trying to get an idea because I have to budget my money and I am wondering if I am going to have to buy all new meds. What, I just realized I have to by all new Byetta anyway because it is a 30 day supply....nevermind. DOH!

Hi Jiggy,

DO NOT throw out that Byetta, use it all up!!! and if the Dr ups you to 10mcg from 5 which given those numbers he's probably going to do, you can just do a double hit on the 5mcg pen until you use it all up.  As I've said before, it doesn't magically deteriorate at 30 days ::grins::....get what you paid for!

Good improvement in your numbers, congratuations.  And yes, they are still higher than would be safe long term so the doctor will probably up your meds to get you right in the target zone.
