Need Help with Fasting Levels

This thread is several years old but I thought I would report that I have been officially diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and now on Tresiba and Fiasp (because pharmacy couldn't get Novolog) GAD antibody level has increased and C-Peptide has decreased. Its been a long journey.

I was on Levemir for 6 months last year so that part isn't too new for me. The part that requires the major adjustment (in my opinion) is the Fiasp. Predicting what I will eat and what dose Fiasp. I see a definite improvement but still have a ways to go. One problem I have is accepting the fact that I now have a new "normal" in terms of blood sugar levels. I still find myself striving for nondiabetic normals. The thinking about diabetes has changed so much from when I started on this journey (early 2000's) I.e. GAD and C-Peptide levels were never done on me before 2019. Now the belief is that Type 1 happens in stages and if you catch it as it is starting (Stage 1, often with antibodies but no other noticeable abnormalities) it may be possible to delay progression. Even though I fell into the category of the "thin Type 2's" no one ever questioned whether it could be anything else but Type 2. I was just told recently that the term "thin Type 2's) is not used any longer because it may delay proper diagnosis.
