Girlie, as you might know I also frequent this place.
Are those low glucose strip numbers (8-10-11 ect) the standard Canadian glucose "scale"? Those look like A1c average values, not glucose (?)
(US as you might know from google are double to triple digit glucose level numbers).
(edit: now I understand, in the US, just like its linear measurement system , is different from most of the world)

I went though several cheap meters in the past that were offered as starter "kits" from Walmart. I tested them a/in the Drs office, and figured the % difference. All were within 5%. Occasionally if I get a weird reading, I'll repeat ASAP.
If you keep the same style meter, its also worth getting the cheap test liquid (clear test glucose?). But their ranges are wide. Best to test at the Dr. Some pharmacies is the /US have glucose testing for free too or a very low fee- another way to test your meter kit.
(Mid summer I bought a new glucose meter kit from Walmart with 20 strips included for $20, and was also within 5% of the drs office test. And 50 count box of strips is only $7. ReliOn Premier COMPACT, its great for the $ and within 5% accuracy.)

(Ive been testing/experimenting with foods and low carb style eating since July. If I ate normal, I'd be diabetic by now unfortunately. If I ate junk food, I would have been diabetic years ago. The weird part is I have very low body fat %, some of us just have bad genes which sucks).
