Hey everyone:
My health plan just changed, and I unfortunately have seen my price for Humalog go up drastically. I have read a lot about
Novolog and it seems like that could replace Humalog, and being that it is a "generic" drug I will save about
100 dollars for a 3 month supply.
Has anyone made the switch from Humalog to Novolog??? I already have an appointment with my doctor next week to talk to him about
it, but I was hoping to hear about
some of your experiences with it.
Thanks!
Mark

Hey Mark, I'm from Toronto, and the only insulin that is recommended with the pump is Novolog. Should be fine, though it works quicker; so you may need to adjust your dosage.

Thanks Maxx.
That's interesting. I am on the pump and have always been told to use Humalog.
From what I have read about
Novolog it actually seems better for the pump because of how much quicker it is.
Thanks again.

Hey Mark, are you American? I started on the pump last December. My sugars have been so much better. Do you have a diabetes educator you can ask re the insulin? We were told not to use Humalog. Take care,

Yes, I am from New Jersey.
I have someone I goto with pump questions, but I just speak to my doctor about
everything else.
I have been on the pump for about
4 and 1/2 years now, always with Humalog. I will speak to my specialist next week and try to make the switch to novolog. My sugars have been good so part of it could be the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school of thought that doctors seem to follow.
thanks again.
