Hello All,

 

I am new to this site because I am trying to find some answers to a symptom my hubby is having.   He has regular blood work done due to treatment for Ulcerative Colitis and it has shown he is borderline diabetic.

 

He has had two incidents now when suddenly he feels like his whole body is on fire and he itches all over.  At first we thought it might have been an allergic reaction to something and while trying to research that I found a post from a diabetic who said when his bg's are elevated he feels on fire.

 

Can anyone tell me if this sensation he is having could be related to diabetes?

Hello Becky I am not exactly sure what may be going on with your husband, but since he has been diagnosed borderline diabetic, then it is probably the safest thing to call the Dr, since his meds may have toi be adjusted to his diagnoses. I have heard of similar symptoms though if infection is present, that could cause the same symptoms. I would highly suggest not waiting and taking your husband to the hospital or to the Dr to be sure. Take care I hope everything turns out okay for your husband and yourself Take Care Phoelona

Becky,   When I get a flare up with fibromyalgia,  I feel like I am on fire.     It is due to the muscles aching, it is more like a burning sensation.    Maybe he could have fibromyalgia?    Would be best if he would speak to his Dr. about it and maybe they can do some testing to see if he has it.     :-)
