I actually am hopping over from the hep forum. I have a great story to tell ,in case theres anyone out there going through similar problems. My brother was diagnosed diabetic at age 4...a rough thing to go through his whole life...by his early 20's he was up to 3 shots a day...when he was in his early 30's,,,he bought a brand new truck at the beginning of Dec...by the second week of Jan ,,he was blind from ,,,I think it was diabetic myopia??? something like that,,,,2 weeks later,,his kidneys failed and he was placed on the pancreas/kidney transplant list....after almost 2 long years on dialysis(spelling?) ,,,and extreme depression from losing his independence and his life,,,,he finally received his gift of life,,,now after 4 yrs,,he is doing great:) He went to a school for the blind where he learned to do things himself, including using saws n such to build things from wood,,,,and he met a wonderful woman there. They now live independently ,,other then trips to the grocery(they even walk to the post office and dollar store alone),,,,he is happy, healthy, and totally appreciating the life that was given back to him;....he is my hero! Even though is life has been full of terrible things happening to him,,he pushed on,and now has a wonderful sense of humor and lives life to the fullest,,,hope this story reaches someone that will be encouraged by it,,take care everyone and thanks for letting me hop over and share.
